This is where you will set up all of the rules that apply to Statutory Holidays. You can specify how many days an employee must work prior to the stat and/or whether or not the employee must be present the day before and/or after the stat.
Follow the procedure below to set up a Statutory Holiday Any Public Holiday. Defined in Setup->Holidays. Pay Rule.
Go to the Setup->Holiday Pay Rules->Statutory Holiday Pay Rules window and click either the Add or Edit button. You will see the following window:
Enter a relevant code. i.e. 'HPR1' for 'Holiday Pay Rule #1
Enter a brief description of the Holiday. i.e. 'Holiday Pay Rule #1'
If your company has a set rule about how many days an employee must work prior to the holiday in order to get paid for the holiday, enter it in the gray area of the screen.
i.e. Employee must work 20 days out of 28 days prior to the holiday
After entering values in the two boxes, the 'Pro-rate' check box will become enabled. if you want to pro-rate the days entered to pay a percentage of the days worked, check this box. If not, the employee will receive no pay if he/she did not work the entire amount of days required. (In this case, 20 days)
i.e. The employee only works 15 days (120hrs) instead of the required 20 days (160hrs), he/she would receive
If you do not have such a rule, then leave both boxes empty.
a percentage of the hours worked. 120/160 = .75 (75%) of the value of the stat holiday. .75 * 8hrs = 6hrs.Click OK to save the record.
If your company requires that an employee be present on the work day prior to the holiday, check this box.
If your company requires that an employee be present on the work day after the holiday, check this box.
Note: Unless you are using Scheduling, the two rules listed above will not work as ETP will not know what a particular employee's scheduled worked days are. These two rules are dependant on information in the Employee's Schedule. Leave both rules unchecked if you are not using Scheduling.
